My AirPods Won’t Charge! How To Fix It?

I’ll go over some of the most common reasons why your AirPods won’t charge in this article. Whether you’ve just purchased your first pair of Apple AirPods or you’ve had them for a year, there’s always the possibility of issues. There are several possible explanations for this. However, all of them have simple solutions. I’ll go over those options and show you how to solve the problem.

Are My AirPods Broken?

You know how you’ve always wanted to do that thing where you can just keep your earbuds in and pause the music by taking them out of your ears? That’s always been possible, but it’s now easier than ever. AirPods are Apple’s brand new wireless earbuds. They’re designed to work with Apple devices and come with a charging case that you can keep with you at all times. But what if your AirPods won’t charge?

It’s possible that something is wrong with the charging case itself—it could be defective. If the indicator light on the outside of the case does not bring to light when you open it, or if it flashes red instead of remaining solid green, there may be a problem with the battery inside the case. Contact Apple Support; you may be eligible for a replacement under warranty. No luck? It could also be a problem with your AirPods—perhaps they’re not properly seated in their case, or they’re defective. If your charging case isn’t showing any signs of life, try plugging your AirPods into another device to see if they charge there (if they charge in an iPhone but not in an iPad, it could mean that there’s a problem).

Why won’t my AirPods charge?

AirPods won’t charge? It’s not a problem. Here are some common fixes for the case and charging cable that should get you back to talking on the phone or listening to music in no time.

Check your charging case

If you’re having trouble charging your AirPods, start by checking the charging case. To do this, open the lid and make sure there’s room for both pods inside. If there isn’t, check that the lid is shut properly, then put them back in. If there’s still not enough room, try using a different case for a while to see if it works better.

If you’re using an old charging case that doesn’t have space for both pods at once, consider buying a new one to get better performance (they don’t cost much).

Restart your AirPods

Put the AirPods in the charging case and close it. Wait five seconds, then open the lid. Wait another five seconds, then close it again. Repeat this process until you see a green light on both sides of an AirPod case. If it’s not charging, try charging with a different Apple USB-C cable or USB power adapter.

If you’re still having trouble with your AirPods, contact Apple Support for help.

Put the AirPods in the charging case and close it

Put the AirPods in the charging case and close it. The case should light up when it’s charging, but if it doesn’t, make sure it’s connected to power — either plugged into a wall outlet or a USB-C adapter that’s plugged into power. If nothing happens when you put your AirPods back in the case, wait at least 10 minutes before trying again.

Clean out your Lightning port

Clear any debris or lint out of the Lightning port. If there’s any dirt or grime in there, it could be blocking the connection between your charger and your device. This can happen if you use third-party accessories that don’t have proper shielding inside them.

Dirt in the charging port. If your AirPods don’t charge when connected to a power source, check the charging port on the back of each earbud. Make sure it’s clean and clear of debris. Also disconnect and reconnect the Lightning cable to make sure that it’s securely connected to both AirPods and your device.

Clean Your AirPods and Charging Case

If you’re having trouble with AirPods not charging, clean them thoroughly with a lint-free cloth and then try to charge them again. This can help resolve any issues with dirt or dust in the charging port on the back of each earbud.

Clean Your iPhone Lightning Cable

Broken Lightning cables are a common cause of iPhone issues, particularly when charging and transferring data between iPhones and computers.

Lightning cables can be difficult to diagnose because they usually don’t break all at once. Because of the construction of the cable, an iPhone may continue to charge but not sync data properly, or vice versa. Keep a close eye on things while you’re troubleshooting!

Set Up AirPods Using Your iPhone

Your iPhone needs to be connected to your AirPods before you can use them.  AirPods are designed to easily connect to your iPhone as soon as you open the  Charging Case.

First, open the lid of the charging case and remove one of the earbuds by pulling it straight out. The lid will automatically close when you remove an earbud from its slot.

Next, double-click the Home button on your iPhone and swipe up to reveal Control Center.

Tap on the AirPods icon (it looks like two headphones). This will open up Apple’s Bluetooth settings and prompt you to connect your AirPods.

Tap on ‘Connect’ when prompted and wait for them to pair with your iPhone. This should only take a few seconds if everything goes well.
